Season six of HGTV’s hit show, Brother vs. Brother, features design work from Amanda Goldberg, founder and CEO of Planted Design, in the Bay area of California.

Goldberg and her team competed on Team Jonathan Scott as he challenged his brother, Drew Scott, in an interior design showdown.

Planted Design builds custom living vertical gardens, maintenance-free moss walls and unique plant arrangements across the United States.

Ahead of the premiere, Goldberg and her plants were featured in TV Guide Magazine and on HGTV’s website.

Goldberg moved to California shortly after graduating from Syracuse University in 2008.

She is a 2003 graduate of Parkland High School.

Her parents, Richard Goldberg and Shelley Barchanowitz-Goldberg are Lehigh Valley residents.

Her mother was the owner of 19th Street’s beloved art and personalization store, Shelley’s.

Goldberg started Planted Design in her backyard in 2015 after her undergraduate studies in industrial and interaction design and Master’s degree in regenerative design from Cal Poly Pomona left her noticing sustainable products and plants were missing from many designs.

Within months, she was approached to create a moss wall for the VISA Everywhere VIP Lounge at Super Bowl 50, a rental piece for which she won an American Horticulture Award.

She has since grown out two studio spaces, hired 10 employees and worked with Google, Twitter, Clif Bar, Better Homes and Gardens, Salesforce, GAP, IBM, eBay and Campbell’s Soup, just to name a few.

Planted Design’s local friends and fans gathered May 23 at Union and Finch, where Goldberg worked when it was JP O’Malley’s, for a viewing party.
