Loyola University
Andrew Serensits, of Northampton, received a Bachelor of Science degree in computer science at Loyola University Maryland’s 166th commencement May 19 at Royal Farms Arena, Baltimore.
Established in 1852, Loyola University Maryland is a Catholic, Jesuit comprehensive university comprising Loyola College, home to the university’s arts and sciences programs; the Sellinger School of Business and Management; and the School of Education. Loyola enrolls 4,000 undergraduate and 2,000 graduate students.
Anna Maria College
Jacob A. Pesarcik, of Whitehall, graduated from Anna Maria College with a master’s degree in social work. Pesarcik earned his bachelor’s degree in social work from Bloomsburg University in May 2017. In conjunction with his MSW coursework, Pesarcik completed an internship within the Anna Maria College athletics department providing services to student athletes in regards to prompting academic success. Also, during his time at Anna Maria College, he served as the men’s soccer graduate assistant coach, and in March 2018, Pesarcik was appointed the AMCATS new men’s soccer head coach.
Muhlenberg College
This spring semester, 58 students were inducted into the Muhlenberg College chapter of Phi Beta Kappa, the oldest and most prestigious honorary society in America. Founded in 1776, Phi Beta Kappa has celebrated excellence in the liberal arts and sciences and championed freedom of thought since that time. Muhlenberg College was granted a charter in 1967.
Whitehall: Brian Heckman, Erin Lindenmuth
Founded in 1848, Muhlenberg is a highly selective, private, four-year residential, liberal arts college located in Allentown. With an undergraduate enrollment of approximately 2,200 students, Muhlenberg College is dedicated to shaping creative, compassionate, collaborative leaders through rigorous academic programs in the arts, humanities, natural sciences and social sciences, as well as selected pre-professional programs, including accounting, business, education and public health. The college is affiliated with the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America.
University of the Sciences
The University of the Sciences held a conferment ceremony May 18.
Coplay: Melissa Vargas, Bachelor of Science in pharmaceutical and health care studies. Vargas continues on in the doctor of pharmacy program.
Northampton: Jaden Daubert, Bachelor of Science in pharmaceutical and health care studies. Daubert continues on in the doctor of pharmacy program.
University of the Sciences has prepared students to be leaders and practitioners in the health care and science fields for nearly 200 years. Lehigh University has named the students who earned dean’s list for the spring 2018 semester. Dean’s list status is awarded to students who earned a scholastic average of 3.6 or better while carrying at least 12 hours of regularly graded courses.
