Camp Cementon: Campers enjoy fun games

In the blink of an eye, five weeks have passed at Camp Cementon. Our fifth week of camp was full of exciting games and activities, which were enjoyed by campers and counselors alike.

Several campers arrived for the first time this summer, and Monday offered an opportunity for introductions. Campers competed in Jump the River, dodgeball and several other games on Monday as well. The afternoon concluded with an exciting game of Drip-Drip Splash and a beautiful day at the pool.

Tuesday began as a pleasant day outside, as campers participated in games such as Pacman, Fastest in the West and Silent Ball. Unfortunately, we were unable to visit the pool as the weather quickly turned in the wrong direction. In our extra time inside, campers had a tremendous amount of fun playing musical chairs and Wonderball.

On Wednesday, Camp Cementon and Camp Jefferson joined together for a visit to FreeFall Trampoline Park in Bethlehem for our combined field trip. Although tiring, the trampoline park provided all campers with a day full of energy and excitement. Among the activities to enjoy at Freefall were trampoline-infused dodgeball courts, obstacle courses, a mechanical bull and open jumping on many trampolines. Counselors and campers both enjoyed this very busy and exciting trip!

Cementon campers were back to the park on Thursday, and this day was extra exciting because all campers had the opportunity to tie-dye a shirt of their choice throughout the day. The results were outstanding, as all the clothing came out looking phenomenal. In the time not spent tie-dyeing, campers enjoyed playing Four-Square, Red Light-Green Light and Ant Tag. With the weather looking up, we were back to the pool for the first time in a few days. The water was an especially refreshing way to end an exciting Thursday at camp.

Our theme for Friday of week five was neon/tie-dye gear. Walking in on Friday was quite a sight, as the clothing worn by the campers and counselors lit up the entire room. In the morning, we enjoyed another round of dodgeball, played Cops and Robbers and had a friendly competition in a game of Spud. Lunchtime was exciting, as the entire camp was treated to pizza and cupcakes, courtesy of a camper’s birthday. When all the pizza and cupcakes were gone, we once again headed to the pool. Friday was a perfect day for the pool, as the sun was shining, and there were no clouds in sight.

We rounded out the week by naming our Campers of the Week. Our week five winners were siblings Noah and Emma. Congratulations to both of our extraordinary campers!

Week five was an extremely exciting week at Camp Cementon, and we all look forward to the upcoming final three weeks.
