During the Lynn Township supervisors’ June meeting, resident Brian Mohr asked Zoning Officer Chris Noll about the progress, if any, on his complaints about White Deer Run.

Mohr asked whether White Deer Run was doing more than what was allowed by the zoning hearing board decision.

Noll reported he was told by the manager only alcoholics were being treated at the site and the requested improvements were done at the facility.

Supervisors Chairman Justin Smith said the board was now finished with this item.

Lynnport Fire Company reported 28 calls for the year. The annual golf tournament will be at Rich Maiden Golf Course on Sept. 27.

Northwestern Educational Foundation will also have a golf tournament on Aug. 10 at Old Homestead Golf Course.

Chief Peter Christ gave the New Tripoli Fire Company report and stated firefighters responded to 110 calls to date.

The fire company will have a food stand at Night in the Country on Aug. 18. Some Guns and Cash tickets might still be available.

Roadmaster Bruce Raber said roads were prepped for oil and chip, signs were replaced and repaired, new pipes were installed and the crew worked on the dirt roads.

Raber expects paving to be done in August.

A proposal was accepted by the board for a 60-acre parcel, owned by Blaine and Melody Herb, along Sassafras Road.

Yearly donations to service groups within the township were released.

Donations were as follows: New Tripoli Fire Company, $6,000; Lynnport Fire Company, $4,000; Northwestern Rescue Squad, $3,000; Northwestern Recreation Commission, $5,000; and Night in the Country, $500.

An amount of $825 will be allocated toward the pond at Ontelaunee Park for stocking carp and $1,775 will be available for continued chemical control of the vegetation in the pond.

New building construction will start around July 23.

Ebenezer United Church of Christ has agreed to donate the World War II monument, and the land it lies on, to the park. Support for the veterans memorial has come in from Weisenberg and Heidelberg townships.

Noll was given the task of obtaining a copy of the agricultural entertainment ordinance from Upper Macungie Township.

He will also have a draft ordinance for next meeting on the revisions to the sign ordinance.

Lines will be painted in the township parking lot once it is determined how many parking spaces are necessary.

Edgeone Property Services received the nod to do the painting with a bid of $489.66.
