Lehigh Valley Zoo, 5150 Game Preserve Road, Schnecksville, is offering a community health day with health professionals and staff from St. Luke’s 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. July 22.

They will be offering blood pressure readings and Dr. Elyse Jones from St. Luke’s Allentown Pediatrics will be having a Walk with a Doc around the outside perimeter of the zoo at 10 a.m.

Participants will receive a small discount to the zoo that day.

This is also a Tail on the Trail approved event so log miles on TailOnTheTrail.org and earn free gear.

There will also be offering fun games, giveaways, raffles and more.

The zoo will also be hosting a Rock Around the Zoo event for adults 21 and older July 28.

Bring a favorite folding chair or blanket and sit back and enjoy a live musical performance by John Monforto, Elvis tribute artist and Blues Brothers impersonator.

The event will feature beer, food and a 50/50 raffle.

All proceeds go toward the care of the animals.

Morgenland Church at Leather Corner Post, 3120 Weidasville Road, Orefield, will have its summer picnic 4-9 p.m. Aug. 11 in the church grove.

Rain date is 1-6 p.m. Aug. 12.

There will be good food, cakewalks, raffles, kid’s activities, Country Rhythm Band and more.
