Christmas City fest set for July 21

PAJaZZ

PAJAZZ, the Pennsylvania Jazz Collective, a nonprofit educational organization, will host the third Christmas City Summer Jazz Festival July 21, rain or shine, at Bethlehem Municipal Ice Rink, 345 Illick’s Mill Road. Doors open noon, with music 1-10 p.m.

The headliner is Jeff “Tain” Watts, of Easton, a six-time Grammy Award winner and Modern Drummer Magazine poll-winning drummer. He performed with the Wynton Marsalis Quintet and was a regular on NBC’s tonight show. He currently plays with Ravi Coltrane and Joey Calderazzo. Group members include Craig Kastelnik, Pat Flaherty, Bill Smith and special guest Jerry Weldon, tenor saxophonist with Harry Connick Jr.

Other performers include the PAJAZZ IDOL youth winning group, Nick Krolak Trio, Nancy Coleti Quartet, Rob Stoneback, The Last Thursday Band, Vaughn Stoffey Quartet and La Cucina Latin Jazz.

There is a cost, which will help support additional programming.

Food and drinks will be available for purchase.

The ice rink is an all-weather facility.
