Camp Jefferson: Kids take trip to Dutch Springs

At Camp Jefferson, week four has come to an end, which means we are now half way through the summer session. One thing for sure is time is really flying by. This week was busier than most weeks because, again, both camps were conjoined - this time at Camp Cementon, due to the Fullerton Memorial Fair.

Both camps lucked out with beautiful weather all week, which made all our outside activities possible. Kids at Camp Jefferson enjoyed competitive games like kickball, dodgeball and tennis baseball. After a day of games, the pool was a refresher to everyone.

Later in the week, everyone could tie dye anything they brought in. This was by far one of the best crafts we’ve done this year at camp. The kids could choose the colors they wanted and make their own masterpiece. It allowed them to think outside the box and tie dye something besides a T-shirt, like their own pillowcase. The best part was when their items dried and the campers received them back; their faces filled with excitement. It was priceless!

The best part of the week was the field trip to Dutch Springs’ aqua water park. We could not have asked for a more perfect day. The sun was shining and not a cloud was in the sky. The kids loved climbing up the obstacles and sliding down the slides and splashing into the water. This will always be a memorable field trip.

Friday’s theme was pajama day. Many campers wore their favorite fuzzy pajama pants to camp and were cozy throughout the day.

Friday was also when we recognized the two Campers of the Week who displayed the best behavior throughout week four by following all the rules. The awards were given to Danny L. and Natalie D.
