Calling all kids! Heidelberg Union Church’s Vacation Bible School will be offered 6-8 p.m. July 16-20.

Children in kindergarten through fifth grade are encouraged to come and learn about the love of Jesus through this year’s program, “Rolling River Rampage.”

There will be Bible story time, games, crafts and snacks.

Spread the word! A friendship hour on the porch of Heidelberg Church continues through the summer Sundays immediately following the 10:15 a.m. UCC worship service.

All are welcome to stay a bit longer and enjoy some food with lots of fellowship.

That’s the spirit! According to Heidelberg Church Soup Kitchen Coordinator Linda Hausamann, 168 meals were served recently to hungry and homeless children, women and men at the soup kitchen.

The meal included ham and cheese sandwiches, tossed garden salad, vegetable soup, mixed fruit cocktail and desserts.

Special thanks to the volunteers of the day: Pastor Karen Yonney, Sheri Hausman, Eleanor and Ron Klevenhagen, Barbara Matthias and Linda Hausamann.

Everyday treasures! Before you throw away your old ink cartridges, think twice.

Heidelberg Union Church recycles ink cartridges to help with the cost of supplies for its office.

Each cartridge provides the church with $2 credit.

If you have any old cartridges you want to get rid of, bring them to the church and drop them in one of the boxes marked recycled in cartridges.
