Spread the word! A friendship hour on the porch of Heidelberg Church continues through the summer Sundays immediately following the 10:15 a.m. UCC worship service.

All are welcome to stay a bit longer and enjoy some food with lots of fellowship.

To host this enjoyable time of friendship or to bake a batch of something sweet to eat, sign-up on the sheet in the narthex or call the church office at 610-767-4740 for further information.

That’s the spirit! According to Heidelberg Church Soup Kitchen Coordinator Linda Hausamann, 168 meals were served recently to hungry and homeless children, women and men at the soup kitchen.

The meal included ham and cheese sandwiches, tossed garden salad, vegetable soup, mixed fruit cocktail and desserts.

Special thanks to the volunteers of the day: Pastor Karen Yonney, Sheri Hausman, Eleanor and Ron Klevenhagen, Barbara Matthias and Linda Hausamann.

To know more about helping at the soup kitchen, call Linda at 610-767-5281.

Everyday treasures! Before you throw away your old ink cartridges, think twice.

Heidelberg Union Church recycles ink cartridges to help with the cost of supplies for its office.

Each cartridge provides the church with $2 credit.

If you have any old cartridges you want to get rid of, bring them to the church and drop them in one of the boxes marked recycled in cartridges.

Talk about a tongue twister! Last week, I thought a thought. But the thought I thought I thought wasn’t the thought I thought.

If the thought I thought I thought had been the thought I thought I thought, I wouldn’t have thought so much.
