Eight local cooks brought their best efforts to the Schnecksville Community Fair’s apple pie baking contest sponsored by the New Tripoli Bank.

The judges, all employees of the New Tripoli Bank, had the envious task of taste testing each pie, making notes and comparing their impressions to choose the three top pies.

When it was all done and eaten, Tara Thorson of New Tripoli took first place with her “TNT’s Cinnamon Bun Apple Pie.”

Sara Kurtz of Emmaus was second with her “Triple Layer Apple Pie” and Madison Stettler of Schnecksville won third place with her “Apple-Strawberry Pie.”

The only thing missing was the ice cream!
