The club’s annual fundraiser, to help defray expenses for a person with medical issues, will be Oct. 5 with Lucky 7 taking the stage.

St. Peter Roman Catholic Church’s Altar & Rosary Society will celebrate its 90th anniversary at the 8 a.m. service July 15.

A special breakfast for the organization will follow at the church’s social hall, 4 S. Fifth St.

The society was organized July 15, 1928.

Vacation Bible School at St. John’s Lutheran Church will run 6:30-8:30 p.m. July 16-20 in the social hall of the church, 18 S. Third St.

The theme this year is “Construction Zone,” and the program is open to all youngsters in the community.

The reconstruction and paving of Hokendauqua Street from Second Street in the borough and Front Street in Hokendauqua to Sixth Street is finally finished. This comes as a major sigh of relief to motorists.

The project was a joint venture between Whitehall Township and the Borough of Coplay, a boundary thoroughfare for the two municipalities.
