The Salisbury Township Police Department and the Salisbury Township Recreation Advisory Committee have teamed together for a community event 6 to 8 p.m. Aug. 7 at Salisbury Middle School, 3301 Devonshire Road, Allentown. Residents will have an opportunity to meet and greet local police officers, firefighters and EMS personnel. Many activities are planned, including a basket raffle, 50/50 drawing, bingo, kids’ games and activities, moon bounce, home safety tips, neighborhood watch information, music from B-Flat Entertainment Services and more. Food and drinks will be provided at no charge; however, a Boardwalk Bites Food Truck will also be on site offering additional food for purchase.

Bring your favorite treat and you may win a prize as part of the dessert contest. The event will be held rain or shine.

The Salisbury Press will also attend with its popular newspaper toss game.

National Night Out is an annual community-building campaign promoting police-community partnerships and neighborhood camaraderie to make neighborhoods safer, more caring places to live. National Night Out enhances the relationship between neighbors and law enforcement while bringing back a true sense of community. It provides a great opportunity to bring police and neighbors together under positive circumstances.

Millions of neighbors take part in National Night Out across thousands of communities from all 50 states, U.S. territories and military bases worldwide on the first Tuesday in August.

Police received a report of illegal dumping along Constitution Drive and Cardinal Drive 10:18 a.m. June 21.

A resident in the 900 block of Beverly Drive reported the theft of two hanging flower pots from the front yard 9:14 a.m. June 22.

Eight religious pictures/artifacts were reported removed from a home in the 1000 block of Debbie Lane 8:50 p.m. June 26. There was no forced entry to the home.

Salisbury police officers are credited with saving the life of a man in the 1700 block of South Albert Street after administering four doses of Narcan to a male in his 30s who had overdosed on suspected heroin. The male was transported to St. Luke’s University Health Network for further treatment.

A resident in the 800 block of College Lane reported 11:54 a.m. June 26, an unknown person broke a brick by the home.

A 41-year-old female, of Allentown, and Yamira Agosto, 40, of Allentown, were charged with retail theft and conspiracy to commit retail theft following an investigation at Ross Dress for Less, 3300 Lehigh St. 2:07 pm. June 15. Agosto was also charged with allegedly receiving stolen property. The two worked at Ross Dress for Less and allegedly either scanned an item and voided the transaction or did not ring the full amount of the product. Ross Dress for Less reports a loss of $1,038.59. Both were taken to Central Booking for processing.

Jessica Fox, 31, of Harrisburg, was charged with theft of service and identity theft following an investigation at Lehigh Valley Health Network - Cedar Crest, 1200 S. Cedar Crest Blvd., Allentown, 10:15 a.m. June 20. Fox allegedly went to the hospital and gave a false name to receive $7,000 worth of medical services.
