Dianne Huber retires after 29 years with Eastern PA MedCom

On June 19, Dianne Huber retired as a dispatcher for Eastern PA MedCom, a communication agency that provides direct contact between emergency medical service personnel in the field with regional emergency rooms at hospitals.

Retiring exactly 29 years from her start date, Huber was an integral part of the system as it grew in importance to emergency medical service providers in Berks, Carbon, Lehigh, Monroe, Northampton, and Schuylkill counties.

Huber was surprised when her colleagues, board members of the Eastern PA EMS Council and ambulance crews from throughout the covered region arrived at the MedCom facility along Kernsville Road, North Whitehall, to bid her farewell.

She was driven to her home in Germansville by Christopher Confalone, emergency preparedness coordinator, and ambulances from Cetronia, Northern Valley, Macungie, Boyertown and Southern Berks EMS, Shillington were her escorts.
