July 4

Old Fashioned Fourth of July events at Macungie Memorial Park – rain or shine. A parade begins 10 a.m. at the information booth. Participants are encouraged to decorate bikes, scooters, wagons or strollers. Marchers are also welcome. The annual duck race begins in the creek 11 a.m. There is a cost per duck; the ticket is good for a hot dog and drink at the pool snack bar. Activities at the pool area begin 11 a.m. including a cake walk, bouncy house and more. Macungie Band will perform 11:30 a.m. in the bandshell. Fire department and ambulance equipment will be on display. No reservations are needed to picnic on the grounds. Pavilions must be rented in advance. Basketball, baseball and volleyball fields are available; participants should bring their own equipment. The annual Bear Swamp Derby is planned; participants should bring a matchbox type car or purchase one on site. For more information, email hornerd2@gmail.com.

Arts and crafts group 9 to 11:30 a.m. at Lehigh Valley Active Life, 1633 W. Elm St., Allentown. Instructor Trisha Baker will coordinate crafts for those who enjoy working with their hands and keeping fingers nimble. Also July 6, 9, 11, 19, 20, 23 and 25. For more information, call 610-437-3700.

July 7

Pioneer Band will perform a concert at East Texas Park, 5624 East Texas Road, East Texas, 7 to 8 p.m.

Saturday dance 7:30 to 10:30 pm, Trexler Room, Lehigh Valley Active Life, 1633 W. Elm St., Allentown. King Henry and Jacob will play oldies and requests. Come out and enjoy. July 20

Main Street Cruisers will perform at Hills at Lockridge Park, 7125 Scenic View Drive, Macungie, 7 to 9 p.m.

The Ben Yorgey Foundation hosts The Ben Event at Macungie Memorial Park. Events include Ben’s Block Party, 5K Fun Walk and Kids Dash, special athletics softball and swim meet, performance by The Large Flowerheads, breakfast in the park, Bear Swamp Derby, Cruise Night and Ben’s Super Raffle.
