It wasn’t a long meeting for Upper Milford Township Supervisors June 21, but that might have been just as well for Boy Scout Grayson Killingsworth, who was there with his mom, Jessamy Killingsworth. The lesson was short. Grayson was at the municipal meeting as part of the requirements for a merit badge on communications. When completed, it will be his 11th merit badge.

Grayson, the son of Jessamy and Dan Killingsworth, has the Boy Scout rank of Star, just two ranks short of Eagle Scout. He listened to residents Rebecca Heid and Jessica Diehl discuss unsafe driving in their neighborhoods and hear them ask the supervisors for help on the matter.

Heid asked for consistent speed limits on Mill Road, while Diehl shared a concern about safety on Shimersville Road.

As the township has no police force, the complaints need to be forwarded to the Pennsylvania State Police who have jurisdiction in Upper Milford Township.

In other business, the supervisors approved releasing a security deposit of $15,255 back to Lehigh Valley Baptist Church; denied a request for the refund of a permit fee of $75 to a resident on Kernsville Road and authorized the payment of bills owed to vendors.
