Bach Choir at ‘Salon’ in Finger Lakes

The seventh annual “Summer Salon,” 6:30 p.m. July 21, at the Hermann J. Wiemer Vineyard, Dundee, N.Y., in the Finger Lakes region of upstate New York, is a benefit for The Bach Choir of Bethlehem.

“Bach Masquerade: A Night of Music and Mystery,” offer repertoire that includes “Stars,” by Eriks Esenvalds, with a poem by Sara Teasdale, arranged for choir and tuned glasses; Morten Lauridsen’s “Sure On This Shining Night,” and selections from Bach and Haydn.

Soprano Laurie Heimes joins the Salon for the first time. Praised for her “sparkle and humor, radiance and magnetism,” Heimes is regarded as an artist of great versatility, with repertoire ranging from the Renaissance to the 21st century.

A variety of wine will be offered along with hors d’oeuvres served during the Intermezzo.

Hermann J. Wiemer Vineyard, founded in 1979, has merited national and international attention.
