Lower Milford Fireman’s Carnival 6 p.m. through June 16. Music begins 7 p.m. nightly. Event includes silent auction, live music, amusement rides, games, beer pavilion, clams, bingo and fireworks. Proceeds benefit emergency services in Lower Milford Township.

June 14

Annual Flag Day program 6 p.m. in the Arts Pavilion at Emmaus Community Park. The program, organized by the Woman’s Club of Emmaus, will focus on poems and essays by students on “What the American Flag Means to me.” The program will include the Emmaus Chorale under the direction of Laura Rabenold, Emmaus veterans, Boy Scouts and Girl Scouts. Randy Schueck Jr., a Vietnam-era U.S. Marine Corps veteran, will be the featured speaker. The Rev. David K. Schlonecker of the Bethel Bible Fellowship Church will give the invocation and benediction. Nathan Brown, Lehigh County commissioner, will preside.

Lower Macungie Township’s free summer concert with Macungie Band at Hills at Lockridge Park, 7125 Scenic View Drive, Macungie, 7 to 8 p.m.

The Emmaus Public Library will hold a kickoff party for the Summer Reading Club 2018, “Libraries Rock!” 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. The event features carnival games, food trucks, live music and the summer reading club sign ups held on the lawn of the library, 11 E. Main St. Entrance to the event is free. Food and merchandise will be available for purchase on site as well as at neighboring businesses. The kickoff party also serves as a fundraiser in support of the expansion of the children’s wing.
