Parkland Garden Club’s “Sharing Beautiful Gardens of the Lehigh Valley” will take place, rain or shine, from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. on June 30.

The self-guided event features eight residential gardens.

“We asked each gardener to think about what makes their garden a ‘gardener’s garden,’” said Barbara Campbell, co-chairwoman of the tour.

Taking part in the tour are:

·Edge of the Woods, Orefield, features native plants, perennials, grasses, shrubs and trees;

·The Ying and Yang concept is incorporated at the home at 3015 Suncrest Dr., Allentown;

·The charm of a traditional West End Allentown home is featured at 2629 Greenleaf St;

·At 4004 Westview Drive see how the homeowner used large rocks and species of leather leaf viburnum and American hornbeam to create an oriental feel to the property;

·At 38 Kraft Drive, Allentown, view cranes bills, purple May Knight salvia, and ‘Husker Red’ Penstemon, which grace a 40-foot perennial bed;

·The property at 6033 Fairways started with no landscaping. Now digitalis, ferns, ligularis, lilies, anemones, and hostas abound;

·A 35-foot by 90-foot garden railroad with eight trains, 30 miniature bonsai shrubs and trees, mixed perennials and annuals await visitors at 3134 Bradford Circle, Emmaus; and

·At the 1.3-acre property at 4146 East Rock Road, Allentown, the owner makes use of tall timbers and natural boulders to create his garden, which includes several water features.

A silent auction and a creative demonstration by David Shimp, greenhouse manager at Phoebe Floral Shop, will be featured.
