Coplay Public Library: Library has special hours June 14
Summer hasn’t officially started, but schools are out, the weather is warmer - and who could wait for that first water ice or ice cream?
Mark your calendars for upcoming library events.
***
The library will be open noon-5 p.m. June 14 due to SPARK training.
No fines will be charged for items due June 14. Don’t forget you can use the drop box located outside the library to return materials if the library is closed.
Some libraries in Lehigh and Carbon counties have already migrated to this system, and we will join them June 28. Other area libraries will implement the system in the next few months.
One of the goals of this state initiative is to offer patrons easier access to a wider variety of materials.
We appreciate your patience while we learn to use the new system and procedures.

Ready to rock? Whether you dance to ’50s classic rock or enjoy pop/rock, this year’s summer learning program, Libraries Rock, has something for all age groups.
We’ll have a kickoff event June 16. Register 11 a.m.-3 p.m., and stay for a presentation of Disney’s “Oliver & Company.”
Earn a raffle ticket, spin our prize wheel, do a music-related craft or choose from a variety of other fun activities. Families are encouraged to participate during the program.
Can’t make the kickoff event? No problem. You can register after June 16 whenever the library is open.

Any students in grades 6-12 who are interested in becoming part of our “volunteen” program and working with the children to plan activities should stop by the library and talk to a staff member.
This is a great way to give back to your community and to fulfill service hour requirements for school or church.

We are accepting donations for our October book sale. We regret that we can no longer accept VHS tapes, textbooks, encyclopedias, Reader’s Digest condensed books or any materials that are torn, dirty or damaged by mildew or smoke.
For your safety, we ask that you drop your donations off any time while the library is open.
