University of Scranton
Andrew Kokolus, of Northampton, was among the 54 University of Scranton students inducted into Upsilon Phi Delta, the national honor society for graduate and undergraduate students in health care administration programs. Students must have a minimum overall GPA of 3.5 for induction. The university’s chapter of the honor society was established in 2002. Kokolus is a senior pursuing a health administration degree at the Jesuit university.
York College of PA
Over 1,400 students were named to the dean’s list for the spring 2018 semester at York College of Pennsylvania. To be eligible for this honor, a student must be registered for at least 12 academic credit hours and earn a semester GPA of 3.50 or higher.

Nazareth College
Nazareth College is proud to announce that Tehya Berkner, of Catasauqua, has been named to the dean’s list for the spring 2018 semester. Berkner is majoring in music therapy. A student’s GPA must be at least 3.5 or above, and they must complete 12 credit hours of graded work that semester in order to be included on the dean’s list.
Nazareth College’s academic strengths cross an unusually broad spectrum of 60 majors, including education, health and human services, management, the fine arts, music, theater, math and science, foreign languages and the liberal arts. The coeducational, religiously independent, classic campus in a charming suburb of Rochester, N.Y., challenges and supports 2,000 undergrads and 800 graduate students. Nazareth is recognized nationally for its Fulbright global student scholars and commitment to civic engagement.
Muhlenberg College
On April 29, Muhlenberg College held its annual honors convocation designed to honor and celebrate leadership and scholarly excellence and achievement. The awards recognize select members of the faculty and student body for their contributions to the college, to their peers and to their disciplines.
Alyssa Hertel, of Whitehall, Class of 2018, received the Susan E. Halaway Journalism Award. It is awarded for excellence in the field of journalism.
Founded in 1848, Muhlenberg College is a highly selective, private, four-year residential, liberal arts college located in Allentown. With an undergraduate enrollment of approximately 2,200 students, Muhlenberg is dedicated to shaping creative, compassionate, collaborative leaders through rigorous academic programs in the arts, humanities, natural sciences and social sciences, as well as selected pre-professional programs, including accounting, business, education and public health.
University of Colorado Denver
Nick Ferenchak, a graduate of Catasauqua High School, Class of 2006, was awarded his Ph.D., with a focus on transportation engineering, from the civil engineering department at the University of Colorado Denver during a May 12 graduation ceremony. He has accepted a position as a professor at the University of New Mexico in Albuquerque.
Franklin & Marshall College
Sarah Schannauer, of Whitehall, graduated cum laude from Franklin & Marshall College, Lancaster. She was on the honors list and majored in biology. The honors list recognizes a 3.7 or better GPA. She will be attending PA School.
Founded in 1787, Franklin & Marshall is a top-40 national liberal arts college.
Wilkes University
Wilkes University students Daniel Frack, of Danielsville, and Madison Scarfaro, of Whitehall, were two of more than 60 graduating seniors recognized for their academic achievement at a recent annual academic awards ceremony. Frack received the Top Academic Performer in Mechanical Engineering, presented by the mechanical engineering and engineering management department and Dr. Edward Bednarz.
Frack was also awarded the Mabel Scott Wandell and the Sterling Leroy Wandell award, presented to the members of Wilkes University’s graduating class with the highest grade-point averages.
Scarfaro received the Pi Sigma Alpha Award in Political Science, presented by the behavioral and social sciences department and Dr. Kyle Kreider.

Students have been named to the dean’s list for the spring 2018 semester at Mansfield University. To be named to the dean’s list, a student must be attending the university full time and attain at least a 3.5 GPA for the semester.
