Parkland High School tops 2018 Freddys with nine awards

Parkland High School’s production of “The Hunchback of Notre Dame” led the 2018 Freddy Awards with nine Freddy Awards. Other musicals receiving multiple Freddy Awards were Emmaus High School’s production of “West Side Story,” with three Freddy Awards, Southern Lehigh High School’s production of “Disney’s The Little Mermaid,” with three Freddy Awards, and Saucon Valley High School’s production of “The Music Man,” with two Freddy Awards.

Numerous other schools received one Freddy Award among the 29 competing high school musicals productions in the Lehigh Valley and Warren County, N.J.

The 2018 Freddy Awards were announced May 24 during the 16th annual live ceremony from the State Theatre Center for the Arts, Easton, broadcast on WFMZ Channel 69 and wfmz.com.
