STUDENT OF THE WEEK
Q. In what grade are you currently enrolled?
A. I am currently enrolled in 12th grade at Emmaus High School.
Q. What is your favorite subject? Why?
A. My favorite subject is math. I love that there is a definite answer in every problem no matter how I choose to approach it.
Q. Have you received any special awards or recognition?
A. I have received Principal’s Honor Roll and the Players’ Player Award at the girls soccer banquet in January.
Q. Are you involved in any extracurricular activities?
A. I was one of three captains on the varsity girls soccer team in the fall. I am vice president of the Pediatric Cancer Club. I am also a member of Key Club, National Honor Society and Hornet Ambassadors. I also volunteer for Lower Macungie Soccer.
Q. What is your next goal after high school?
A. I plan to attend the University of Delaware with a major in mechanical engineering. Go Blue Hens!
Q. What do you consider your biggest challenge to date?
A. My biggest challenge has been time management and balancing school, soccer and a social life while still accomplishing my academic goals. High school has been packed with fun activities, so it takes good time management skills to be able to participate in these activities while earning good grades simultaneously.
Q. For what would you like to be remembered?
A. I would like to be remembered as a kind, caring and understanding person. I strive to embody all three of these qualities and hope that I have made an impact on the life and experiences I have shared with the people around me.
Q. Who is in your family?
A. My parents are Mark and Kelly and my younger sister is Molly.
Q. Whom do you admire? Why?
A. I admire my high school soccer coach, Sarah Oswald. She is one of the most kind, caring, positive and helpful people I know. Through thick and thin, she has always supported me and my teammates both on the field and off the field. I truly appreciate every opportunity she has given me from the incredible team bonding memories to the season-ending games. I don’t know how I would have survived four seasons without her and my teammates by my side.
Q. Do you have any advice for your peers?
A. My advice would be to enjoy high school while it lasts. Participate in sports, clubs and other school-sponsored activities while you can. High school will be over before you know it, so savor every second. Focus on school, but also have fun being a teenager.
