First grade’s field day will be held 9-11 a.m. today, May 31. The rain date is June 1. Students will participate in many fun activities.

Remember to dress your child appropriately for the weather. Also, be sure to wear sneakers, bring a water bottle and wear sunscreen.

Reminder: Camp Whitehall 2018 sign-ups began May 11. Summer day camp is open to children residing in the Whitehall-Coplay School District who have completed kindergarten (minimum age 5) through eighth grade (maximum age 15).

Whitehall High School’s graduation for the Class of 2018 will take place 7 p.m. June 4 at Stabler Arena. Flowers add a beautiful accent to the stage and to the memories of this special day. Potted flowers will be placed on the stage in honor of the graduates.

A list of Flowergram sponsors will be included in the program identifying your special message to your graduate. There is a limited number of Flowergrams available on a first-come, first-serve basis.

The last day of school for Whitehall-Coplay School District students will be June 12.

June 7, 8, 10 and 12 will be half days for students. No lunches will be served.

Students, check the lost and found tables at your school. There are many backpacks, books, lunch bags and clothing items.

If you are missing anything, especially books, please see if it is in the lost and found. All lost school books will need to be paid for by the student if they are not returned.

Warm-weather guidelines for your child’s attire during the school day: Please do not wear flip-flops. This footwear can cause injury on the playground and around schools. Students are encouraged to wear sneakers or sandals that have a strap in the back to prevent injury.

Also, shirts must cover shoulders, and shorts may not be shorter than arm length.

The district appreciates parents’ help with this matter.

If you move out of the district this summer, please notify the school, so transfer papers may be supplied for your new school. Also, if you move within the district, you must provide a new proof of registry to the transportation building.
