Schneck is also seeking ideas on what makes the historical society important.

Other officers are Ann Heiser, vice president; Ann Fortney, secretary; and Vicky Kern, treasurer.

Jim Schneck has volunteered to be facility manager.

Call Adam Schneck at 484-201-4716. New members are always welcome, and volunteers are needed for various tasks.

Schnecksville Fire Company will have its last breakfast for this season in the pavilion on May 20.

In September, the fire company will return to serving breakfasts in the main hall on the last Sunday of the month.

Schnecksville Community Fair will run June 29-23 on the fire company grounds.

Restoration of the main building should be completed this summer. The facility was damaged by wind a year ago, after 30 years of serving the volunteer fire company.

St. John’s United Church of Christ, 1415 Rising Sun Road, Laury’s Station, will celebrate confirmation on May 20, Pentecost.

Pastor James Gottwald notes the disciples heard the rush of a violent wind and received the gift of the Holy Spirit, which was the beginning of their ministry on the “maiden flight” of the church.

He reports confirmation is the day on which those who have been studying and praying begin the public profession of their faith.

The actions of the first Pentecost so many years ago are continued through the rituals of confirmation and the sending forth of young people “to spread their wings and share the good news.”

For Memorial Day, St. John’s UCC will decorate the sanctuary with geraniums during the 10:15 a.m. worship service on May 27.

Union Lutheran Church, Schnecksville, will have a Memorial Day service 9:30 a.m. May 28 in the cemetery.

The Rev. Jim O’Connor, retired Navy chaplain, will lead the worship service.
