A talent show at Living Stone Fellowship drew entrants from a large area in both singing and dancing categories.

Pastor Jean Masiko gave the welcome to the first ever talent show at the church in New Tripoli.

“This is a place of welcome for everyone,” she said. “We are honored to have these young people show their talents.

Bryan Gonzalez, the son of Associate Pastor Jaime Gonzalez, was the announcer.

Judges for the event were Mariah Day, who played piano when she was 6 and now has a degree in music composition; Rosalie Tomedes, who has been with the National Network of Orchestras of Venezuela, and plays violin professionally; Jenn Stumer, a member of REZ Music Ministries, a traveling Christian praise and worship group; and Chris Weaver, who wrote lyrics throughout grade school and now is a member of Double Edge Ministries.

There were 10 entrants in the show. At intermission Gonzales and his brother, Chris, did a rap routine and Jenn’s Band, a music ministry, opened the second half of the show with two songs based on the Book of John.

Seth Writcher sang “In the Name of Love,” accompanied by a guitar he built in Parkland High School.

Analis Meja, the daughter of a pastor, sang “Jesus at the Center” accompanying herself on the keyboard.

Molly Crawford played the ukulele. The 14-year-old eventually wants to work with people who have special needs by providing musical therapy.

Caleb Buck, who wants to be an opera singer, sang “If I Were a Rich Man” from “Fiddler on The Roof.”

Judges said he had good mannerisms and facial expression.

The dance team of Kaia Grantham and Abby Pagella performed an acrobatic dance.

“You were awesome,” said one of the judges.

Sisters Alexandria and Savannah Maderia were another dance duo. Their music was “Your Song” by Elton John. They took dance lessons separately.

Jonny Howell, a self-taught drummer, wwsaid it was only his second time playing before an audience.

Amanda Sodi has been dancing since she was 3. She performed a solo dance and wants to eventually teach dance.

Kaylah Lenhart has been singing since she was little, both in church and school.

She wants to be a worship leader and the song she sang was “I Will Trust in You.”

Gonzalez said everyone has a talent and should share it.

Honorable mention went to Kaylah Lenhart. Each entrant received a prize for effort. Third place went to Seth Writcher, second to Amanda Sodi and first to Molly Crawford.
