The band concert was held at Emmaus High School May 1. All of the bands did an excellent job. Congratulations!
On May 2, all of the students, faculty and staff participated in a Civilian Response to Active Shooter Events drill. The purpose of this drill was different than a normal lockdown.
According to the district, “Teachers will discuss with students the basics of the CRASE training. Emphasis will be placed on action(s) to take during an active shooter event, dependent upon factors such as location, proximity to danger, exits and information that may be provided to students and staff through our the public address system.”
The spring chorus concert for all groups will be held in the EHS auditorium 7:30 p.m. May 10.
Senior ball will be held May 11 at the Palace Center in Allentown.
On May 22, parents and guardians in the East Penn School District will be offered a presentation at Eyer Middle School about vaping. The program begins 7 p.m. in the Eyer auditorium. Parents will be able to get resources, hear all the facts and more.
The Red Cross Club blood drive is May 24 in the aux gym. Register at lunches to donate blood or see Mrs. Murray in Room 335.
Dr. Kieres and other administrators and faculty will continue to be available after school Thursdays in the multi-media room. They want to continue to talk with groups of students about matters of school safety and advocacy. A supervised space for student groups to meet and plan advocacy activities will also be provided. Students with all viewpoints are welcome.
The annual art show at Emmaus High School will be May 31.
EHS’s Kid to Kid/SADD Club will have a Dine to Donate night at Texas Roadhouse in Trexlertown 3 to 10 p.m. June 7. Come out and show your support.
