A 58-year-old Carbon County man was killed when his car struck the porch at the headquarters of the Weisenberg Lowhill Township Historical Society around 5:48 p.m. May 2.
The building, the former Zimmerman’s Hotel is located at the intersection of Werley’s Corner and Holben’s Valley roads, Weisenberg Township.
David Shaver of Lansford was pronounced dead 6:30 p.m. at Lehigh Valley Hospital, Salisbury Township, Lehigh County Coroner Scott Grim said.
An autopsy was performed May 3.
The cause of his death is pending further investigation, Grim said.
In addition to the coroner’s office, Shaver’s death is being investigated by Pennsylvania State Police Troop M, Fogelsville.
