Angela Munjone, a mathematics teacher at Northampton Area High School, was inducted by Northampton Exchange Club as the Outstanding NAHS Teacher for March/April at the April 4 dinner meeting. The ceremony was held at Northampton Banquet & Event Center.
Munjone received a framed certificate and pen, and her name and accomplishments will be added to the Exchange Club’s collection of honorees. It is the second year the club has paid tribute to outstanding NAHS faculty and staff.
In her 14th year as a teacher at NAHS, Munjone also monitors after-school detention, teaches summer school, serves as the treasurer for the local teaching association and is a private tutor.
She received a bachelor’s degree in mathematics and secondary education from Cedar Crest College, a master’s degree from Wilkes University and recently completed the STEM endorsement program at Millersville University.
She has two children, Spencer and Gabrielle.
While introducing the list of Munjone’s accomplishments, Wayne Mery, Exchange Club president-elect, noted that NASD Superintendent Joseph Kovalchik and NAHS Principal Robert Steckel were present to pay tribute to the honoree.
Munjone’s colleagues commented that she “consistently exceeds expectations,” puts 100-percent effort in lesson preparation for her students every day, makes math meaningful with stories and has a strong commitment to her students.
