Spring finally seems to have arrived and Salem United Methodist Church will celebrate by holding Springfest 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. May 5 at the church, 6440 Powder Valley Road, Zionsville. The event will feature homemade baked goods, a light lunch, flea market items, flowers for your garden, plus hanging plants for sale. There will be some free items too. The Upper Milford Fire Company’s ladies auxiliary will meet 7 p.m. May 7. New members are always welcome.

The Ladies Auxiliary of Citizens Fire Company of Vera Cruz will meet 7:30 p.m. May 29 at the Vera Cruz Fire Department Social Hall.

Vera Cruz senior citizens meet 1 p.m. May 3 and 17 at the Vera Cruz Fire Company. All are welcome.

Lower Milford Township supervisors will hold a regular meeting 7:30 p.m. May 17. If needed, a workshop meeting will be held 7:30 p.m. May 3.

Other Lower Milford meetings are as follows; unless otherwise noted, they will begin 7:30 p.m.; the planning commission May 7; recreation and open space board May 9; historical commission May 8 if needed. Check with the township office to find out if they will meet this month.

Upper Milford supervisors will meet 7 p.m. May 3 and 17.

The Upper Milford Planning Commission will meet 7:30 p.m. for a workshop meeting May 8 and the regular meeting May 29.

The recreation commission will meet 7:30 p.m. May 21. The Joint Environmental Advisory Council will meet 7 p.m. June 25 in Emmaus. The Open Space Committee meets 7 p.m. May 9. The emergency services committee meets 7 p.m. May 16.

The Upper Milford Historical Society will meet 7 p.m. May 31, in the Upper Milford Township building. Herb Kauffman will discuss the history of Thanksgiving and Christmas traditions. Learn about the history of the Victorian holidays compared to how we observe them today. All are welcome.
