On their recent Confirmation Day, young people at Union Lutheran Church wore stoles, or long scarves, over their shoulders.
Each stole was a unique creation designed and made by the confirmand.
On one side were depictions of interests such as sports or hobbies in the person’s world. On the other side were scenes from life at church such as symbols and stories related to their faith.
The church hopes the stoles will be a reminder to the young people to incorporate all aspects of their lives into a life lived for God and not leave their faith locked behind the doors of the church.
