Parkland Art League meeting, 7 p.m. at the Macungie Institute, 510 E. Main St., Macungie. Artist Wendy Steed is the guest speaker for the meeting, giving a demonstration in watercolor.

The Allentown Garden Club will hold its next meeting 12:30 p.m. at the Allentown Public Library – lower level. The program “Everything You Want to Know About Birds in the Lehigh Valley” will be presented by Barbara Malt, vice president of the Lehigh Valley Audubon Society. Malt will introduce the club to the beautiful and varied birds of the region, when and where to look for them and how to bring more birds to the backyard with bird-friendly garden features. Pure Health & Wellness Center will host a run event to raise funds for the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society 9 to 11 a.m., rain or shine. There will be a 10K run, 5K Run/walk, 1 mile fun run/walk. The event will be held at Ontelaunee Park 7344 Kings Highway, New Tripoli. For information and to register, visit www.runsignup.com. The annual Allentown Garden Club plant sale will be held at 207 N. 27th St. Allentown, 8:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. The sale will feature a wide variety of perennials at reasonable prices. May 18

Meet and Greet Movie Night with the Lehigh Valley Steel Hawks 6 p.m. at Bethany Church, 429 Walnut St., Catasauqua. The movie starts 6:30 p.m. Admission is free. There will be a limited number of autographed footballs for children. Popcorn and water for the movie will be provided. Fans also may bring snacks and beverages.

The Church of the Good Shepherd UCC, 135 Quarry Road, Alburtis, will hold music ministry Sunday to celebrate the 175th anniversary of the church, 10:30 a.m. The choral choir, bell choir and ensemble will perform. A social hour will follow. All are welcome.

Recruitment meet and greet at the Western Salisbury Volunteer Fire Company, 950 S. Ott St. (adjacent to Green Acres Park), 6:30 to 8 p.m. Refreshments will be available.

June 2

Lower Macungie Township will hold a free summer concert with The Outlaws featuring Crazy Elmer at East Texas Park, 5624 East Texas Road, East Texas 7 to 8:30 p.m.

Indoor and outdoor yard sale at St. John’s UCC, 139 N. 4th St., Emmaus, 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. Event will be held rain or shine. A bake sale and hot dog stand will also be available.
