The final months of school are jam-packed with showcases and performances at the Lehigh Valley Charter HS for the Arts. Students and faculty in each department work diligently to go out of the 2018 school year with a bang.

The Dance Department will be hosting Young Choreographers in Concert (YCC) beginning May 3 through May 5. Each show begins at 6 p.m. in the Charter Arts theater and features original choreography by selected dance majors, performed by students. Purchasing tickets online at the Charter Arts website is highly recommended as they are selling out quickly.

The First Friday Art Reception will be hosted in the Corpora Art Gallery May 4, from 6-9 p.m. This is a free event hosted by the Visual Art department. The public is welcomed and may enter from Third Street.

The Vocal Music Department will be hosting the Spring Choral Concert May 7 and May 8. Both performances begin at 7 p.m. in the Charter Arts theater and feature vocal music students. Tickets can be purchased online at the Charter Arts website or at the door upon arrival.

That same week, the Instrumental Music Department will also be hosting its Spring Instrumental Concert May 11. This event will take place from 7-9 p.m. in the Charter Arts theater, with tickets available for purchase either online or at the door.

The Senior Literary Arts Showcase will be held in the Charter Arts Commons Cafe May 17 from 7-9 p.m. This event is an opportunity for the first senior class of Literary Arts students to present the polished products of the work done at Charter Arts.

On May 18 and 19, the Dance Department will be hosting Dance Quilt in the Charter Arts theater. This performance features dance majors of all grades and is the last official performance for the Dance Department of the school year. There will be evening performances May 18 and 19 at 7 p.m. with an additional matinee performance at 2 p.m. May 19. Purchasing tickets online at the Charter Arts website is highly recommended as they sell out quickly.

The Theater Department will be performing its New Play Festival May 22 from 7-9 p.m. in the Charter Arts theater. This performance features senior theater students in their final official performance for the public of the year. Purchasing tickets online at the Charter Arts website is highly recommended as they sell out quickly.

The Piano Recital will be hosted by the Instrumental Music Department May 29. This performance will take place in the Charter Arts theater from 7-9 p.m. Tickets may be purchased online or at the door.

On May 30, the Instrumental Music Department will be hosting Night of Percussion. This performance will take place in the Charter Arts theater from 7-9 p.m. Tickets may be purchased at the door upon arrival.

The Senior Instrumental Showcase will be the last of the May performances May 31 from 7-9 p.m. in the Charter Arts theater. Tickets may be purchased at the door upon arrival.

On June 2, the Figure Skating Department will be hosting their Spring Ice Show: Tapestry at the Steel Ice Center, just down the street from Charter Arts. Purchasing tickets online at the Charter Arts website is highly recommended but may also be done upon arrival.
