Stars and stripes are more than a pattern

They show that we are free

These make up the most valuable symbol

That will ever be

We should honor and respect it

Each and every day

So we can wake up

Free in every way

This is more than a piece of fabric

It is honored each day and week

So we can be here

To learn and be free to speak

What our flag means to me

Is more than you would expect

It is a symbol of freedom

For all that fought to protect

Like the many people

Who died to let us be free

Like all the soldiers

That you may ever see
