State police seek tips on cold cases

In an effort to enlist the public’s assistance, information regarding 16 unsolved homicides from Northampton, Lehigh, and Bucks counties has been made available on the Pennsylvania Crime Stoppers website.

Some of the cases are decades old, with one even dating back to the 1950s.

The following cases are being highlighted:

•Brother and sister Gail and Paul Schultz were murdered near their home in Upper Nazareth Township, Northampton County, in 1953.

•William Michael Sharkey was discovered deceased in the trunk of his own vehicle in Upper Mount Bethel Township, Northampton County, in 1998.

•David Allen Gross was found beaten to death inside his vehicle parked at the Arrow Island Lookout in Upper Mount Bethel Township, Northampton County, in 1977.

•Foul play is suspected in the 1981 disappearance of Ryan Kemp, who was last seen at the IGA supermarket in Schnecksville. Kemp resided in Heidelberg Township.

•Kelly McBride was residing at her home in Northampton Borough at the time of her murder. Her husband was convicted of her murder in 2001 but her remains have never been recovered.

Anyone with information can submit an anonymous tip via the Crime Stoppers website or via phone at 1-800-4-PA-TIPS and may even be eligible for a cash reward.
