Emmaus High School Senior Ball tickets will be sold online through April 26. The link is available on the Google Classroom page using code yyss6y. Voting for court continues through April 27.

The ball is scheduled 5 to 10 p.m. May 11 at The Palace Center, 623 Hanover Ave., Allentown.

The EHS Junior Prom will be held 6 to 10 p.m. May 5 at Homewood Suites by Hilton, Center Valley.

The SAT will be administered at EHS May 5. Test takers should bring their registration ticket, student ID, No. 2 pencil and a calculator. Test doors open 7:45 a.m. and close 8 a.m.

This year’s afterball theme is “Out of this World.” There will be mini-golf, glow-in-the-dark laser tag, a casino, food, games and chances to win prizes. Seniors can even win a car. There is a cost for tickets in advance and at the door.

There will be an origami sale to benefit the Angel Network. The sale will occur at all lunch periods through April 25.

The EHS band concert will be held 7 p.m. May 1 in the auditorium.

During lunches through April 26, members of the Gay Straight Alliance will be selling merchandise as well as providing information on the Day of Silence. The Day of Silence is a student-led event held each year to spread awareness about the effects of the bullying and harassment of lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, queer and questioning students. Students take a day-long vow of silence nationally to symbolically represent the silencing of LGBTQ students. Students who are interested in participating in the Day of Silence April 27 should stop at the table to pick up a sticker and information card. There will also be T-shirts, buttons and other merchandise for sale throughout the week.

The Special Olympics 2018 Eastern Spring Sectional will be held at Kutztown University May 5. This event will welcome nearly 1,200 athletes to compete in softball, basketball, tennis, golf, swimming and track and field events. Volunteers are needed for the event to be a success. Please consider volunteering. Volunteers must be at least 16 years old and those younger than 18 must have parental permission. All ages are welcome to join in the event and support the athletes. Attention all club members of Peers Assisting Learning Support, Key Club and Wellness/Fitness Club: Permission slips for the Special Olympics are due. If you registered to go, you must bring in your slips by April 27. Extra forms are located outside Room 405 or Room 600.

The next Buzz Magazine meeting will be held May 2.

Those who have registered for an Advanced Placement exam are required to attend an AP pre-administration period April 26. Sessions will be held throughout the day during every period and directly after school in the multi-media room. All students must report to only one session, regardless of the number of exams for which they are registered. Students may attend during a study hall or a lunch period; however, they must ask permission prior to missing a class, if necessary. Make sure to come at the beginning of the period, as the session will take the entire period. Also bring a No. 2 pencil.

The EHS College Fair is scheduled May 2. The counseling office is sponsoring a “Name That College” bulletin board contest for students. Students can pick up their entry forms in the counseling office. Read each teacher’s profile and try to identify the school where each teacher earned their undergraduate degree. Use clues from the profile and feel free to talk to the teachers as well.

Students who correctly identify all 10 colleges will be entered into a drawing for a $25 Wawa gift card. Completed entry forms are due in the counseling office by the end of the school day, April 27.

EHS is traveling to Japan this summer. Stop by Room 523 for a flyer and attend the first informational meeting 6 p.m. April 30 in Room 523.

The DeSales University High School Scholars program is a competitive program allowing highly motivated and talented high school seniors to take a course on the DeSales campus tuition free during the fall semester. See Mrs. Greene in the counseling office for details. The application deadline is May 3.

The Class of 2021 is volunteering in the Walk MS Event at Coca Cola Park scheduled 7 a.m. to 2 p.m. May 6. Volunteers are needed. Freshmen can visit the Google classroom page to register to volunteer.

Dr. Kate Kieres and other EHS administrators and faculty will continue to be available Thursdays after school in the multi-media room to talk with groups of students about matters of school safety and advocacy. A supervised space for student groups to meet and plan advocacy activities will be provided.

The spring chorus concert will be held 7:30 p.m. May 10 at EHS.
