Robert R. Ritter Sr., 87, of Allentown, died March 28, 2018, in St. Luke’s Hospital, Allentown campus. He was the husband of Janice L. (Wentling) Ritter. They celebrated their 63rd wedding anniversary June 26, 2017. Born in Lancaster, he was the son of the late Elsie (Thomas) Kramer.

After high school he started his career at the former Allentown State Hospital where he was an aide. He then served his country in the Air Force during the Korean War. After an honorable discharge he became a line worker at Mack Trucks working in the 4C Plant for over 35 years, retiring in 1988.

He was a member of Jerusalem Western Salisbury Lutheran Church. He was a former church council member, Stephen Minister and choir member.

A talented athlete, he played fast pitch and bowled with local leagues and the church teams.

He was a lifetime member of Fearless Fire Company and a local V.F.W. Post.

He is survived by his wife; children, Robert R. Jr. and his wife Susan, of Macungie, Susan L. and her husband Donald Didra, of Allentown, Craig A. and his wife Kathy, of Nazareth, Brian M. and his wife Colleen, of Coopersburg; half-brother, Ronald Kramer, of California; eight grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren.

Memorial contributions may be made in his memory to the church.
