Rep. Ryan Mackenzie, R-134th, will host his next veterans assistance day 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. in his district office at the Lower Macungie Township administration building, 3402 Brookside Road, Macungie. The Friends of the Emmaus Public Library will hold its 20th annual used book sale beginning 7 a.m. at Lower Macungie Middle School, 6299 Lower Macungie Road. The event will be held in the school cafeteria where an estimated 18,000 pre-enjoyed books go on sale. A Nutrition Health and Safety Fair, organized by Nutrition, Inc., the food service provider of the East Penn School District, will take place 9 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. in the school’s lobby. The book sale shuts down 2:45 p.m. and reopens 3 p.m. for a brown bag blow-out.

Pet loss and grief seminar 2 to 3:30 p.m. hosted by Stephens Funeral Home and Day by Day Pet Caregiver Support. The seminar will be held at Stephens Funeral Home, 274 N.
