The Woman’s Club of Emmaus recently named Andrea Klick as the October 2017 Girl of the Month.
Andrea was recognized for her achievements in journalism.
Andrea, the daughter of Kim and Jonathan Klick, of Macungie, is a senior at Emmaus High School.
Andrea is the editor-in-chief of The Stinger, the EHS newspaper.
Andrea’s work has been recognized by the National Scholastic Press Association naming her a “News Story of the Year Top Ten Finalist.” She has received seven awards from the Pennsylvania NewsMedia Association and Pennsylvania Press Club for articles in news, features, sports and column writing categories. In addition to her writing, Andrea has received the President’s Volunteer Service Award for performing over 100 hours of service in one year.
During her sophomore year, Andrea represented EHS at the Hugh O’Brian Youth Leadership Conference.
Andrea is the secretary for the model congress at EHS, co-treasurer of the Interact Club and a member of the fitness team.
Her future plans include studying journalism and political science at an urban university in preparation for a career in journalism.
