Lehigh County Conservation District, with the help of youth leaders from the Allentown area, will host several Traveling Watershed Festivals in the Allentown park system this month.
These fun-filled programs are for kids, families and everyone who wants to have fun while learning to keep water resources clean.
Through large group team building games, water chemistry and biology activities, eco-crafts and up-close encounters with the urban “Enviroscape Model,” participants will be fascinated by the watershed and inspired to keep it clean.
This program is supported in part by a grant from the Pennsylvania Department of Environmental Protection.
Events will take place:
·April 7: 10-11:30 a.m. at Bucky Boyle Park - N. Front St. and 10 Pump Place, and 1- 2:30 p.m. at Keck Park, S. Brook St. and E. Mosser St., both in Allentown;
·April 14: 10-11:30 a.m. at Jordan Park, 6th St. and Sumner, and from 1-2:30 p.m. at Franklin Park, between N. Franklin St. and N. 14th St. to the east and west and Russel St. to the north and south, both in Allentown.
