District news: Annual benefit show will feature NAHS Dance Team

Northampton Area High School Dance Team will be holding its second annual benefit show, set for 5:30 p.m. April 8. The theme is “Dance for a Cure.” The show consists of performances by team members, as well as other local Lehigh Valley dance studios.

This year, all proceeds will benefit Ashley Dronenburg, a 15-year-old Northampton student undergoing her second battle with cancer.

The end of the third marking period was April 4. Grades and report cards will be available on the district website, nasdschools.org. Navigate to parent resources to view online grades and academic records. On there, parents/guardians will be able to connect to Sapphire to view the grades.

If you have any questions or concerns, contact your child’s teacher.

PSSA testing will continue for two weeks for grades 3 through 8. It is very important students do their very best to attend school during these dates.

Be sure to get plenty of rest and eat a good breakfast. Also, it is important to be on time and prompt arriving to school.

Northampton Area Middle School’s panoramic picture day will be tomorrow, April 6. Students will be able to purchase their class picture.

The middle school’s PTA has a meeting set for 6 p.m. April 10 at the school.

Elementary schools are participating in the Box Tops For Education program. Box Tops can be found on many different products. Simply cut out the Box Tops and send them to school with your child. Each Box Top earns money for the schools.

High school yearbooks are on sale. Visit the school district website and follow the link to the high school page. There, you will find a link to purchase your yearbook.

Commemorative brick pavers that will be placed at the new memorial plaza outside the entrance of Al Erdosy Stadium and the entrance to the new district swimming pool are still available for purchase. This memorial plaza will be the center of the secondary campus.

This buy-a-brick fundraiser is sponsored by Northampton Area Konkrete Kids Educational Foundation, and all proceeds will be used to supplement and enhance NASD K-12 education programs.
