Q: In what grade are you currently enrolled?

A: I am in 12th grade at Salisbury High School.

Q: What is your favorite subject? Why?

A: I would say math because it has strict rules, so there isn’t controversy over it. It’s the same in every country. I can pick up on it very easily and you use math in everyday life like when you’re shopping, or working, etc.

Q: Have you received any special awards or recognition?

A: I am in National Honor Society and was captain of varsity cheer.

Q: Are you involved in any extracurricular activities?

A: I am involved in cheer and track.

Q: What is your next goal after high school?

A: To go to a four-year college and start working toward my degree.

Q: What do you consider your biggest challenge to date?

A: With being a senior, I think its challenging to stay motivated, since I am nearing the end of my high school education. Also, applying to college and really getting prepared to leave my family and friends behind. I am trying to grasp the fact that I am going to be venturing out on my own soon and taking the first step to becoming independent and control over my life.

Q: For what would you like to be remembered?

A: I would like to be remembered by my personality and character. My main goal, besides my education, is making people feel welcomed and not outcast. I always try to be friendly and outgoing and make people feel comfortable around me. I know what it’s like to feel out of place, so I try to go out of my way to make people come my way and have a person to talk to.

Q: Who is in your family?

A: My mom is Kewana Isaacs and my dad is Eliud Omollo. My sisters are Hydiah Omollo, Haydenne Isaacs and Harmonye Isaacs.

Q: Whom do you admire? Why?

A: I admire my father because he came here from Africa when he was 18 years old, and worked very hard to get to where he is now. He currently has his own successful business. He has shown me that if you want something, you have to push yourself and you can overcome the obstacles that you were born into.

Q: Do you have any advice for your peers?

A: My advice would be to not get discouraged by what others are saying around you. You want to stay positive and keep focus on what your goal is in life and don’t let other things get in the way. Work hard now, so that you can live lavish later. And do things that are best for you because in the end, you have to live by the choices you made.
