Take home some soup after donating blood at Union UCC

Union United Church of Christ, Neffs, will be hosting the Miller-Keystone Bloodmobile 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. March 25.

Individuals who donate a pint of blood will be given a pint of homemade soup to take home.

The church is having a takeout soup sale on the same day with proceeds going to Miller-Keystone.

Many varieties of soup will be available in quarts or pints.

During Holy Week, Union UCC will have a potluck supper, worship, and informal communion 6 p.m. Maundy Thursday, March 29.

The Good Friday worship begins 7 p.m. on March 30.

Worship opportunities on Easter Sunday, April 1, are 6:30 a.m. in the cemetery and 8 a.m. and 10:30 a.m. in the sanctuary.

Union Lutheran Church, Schnecksville, will have a procession with children’s clothing 9 a.m. Palm Sunday, March 25.

Just as people spread out their clothing to honor Jesus, Union Lutheran will display contributions of clothing for children in the Allentown School District down the center aisle.

The Maundy Thursday church time will be 6 p.m. with dinner followed by worship.

The Good Friday service will be 7 p.m. on March 30.

On Easter, April 1, church services will be at 8 a.m. and 10 a.m.

St. John’s United Church of Christ, 1415 Rising Sun Road, Laurys Station, will recall The Last Supper with communion shared in small groups around a table 7:30 p.m. March 29.

On Good Friday, March 30, the 7:30 p.m. service will feature readings from the Gospel of John, extinguishing of candles, and darkening of the sanctuary.

St. John’s will celebrate Easter, April 1, with a sunrise service at 7 a.m. and breakfast at 7:45 a.m.

The 10:15 a.m. worship will have joyous music from the choir and a living cross with cut flowers.

The decorated cross is a reminder the scene of agony can be transformed into a symbol of new life through the resurrection.

Schnecksville Fire Co., off Route 309, Schnecksville, will be cooking a buffet style breakfast 8 a.m.-1 p.m. March 25 in the pavilion.

Menu includes typical breakfast foods, beverages, creamed dried beef and eggs cooked any way you want them.
