LEHIGH VALLEY WEATHER

STUDENT OF THE WEEK

Q: In what grade are you currently enrolled?

A: I am currently a senior at Salisbury High School.

Q: What is your favorite subject? Why?

A: My favorite subject ever was anatomy and physiology, which I took last year with Mrs. Wilson. I also really enjoyed English my sophomore and junior year with Mrs. Butterbaugh. This year, I am lucky enough to have environmental science with Mrs. Wilson which is probably my favorite class, along with media management running a close second with Mr. Wetherhold.

Q: Have you received any special awards or recognition?

A: My sophomore year I was inducted into Salisbury’s chapter of National Honor Society which I have been a member of for three years now. Last year, I was awarded the Dwight D. Eisenhower Award for Outstanding Leadership of Character from the West Point Society of the Lehigh Valley. I was recognized as the recipient from SHS and attended the award ceremony at West Point along with recipients from the Lehigh Valley, New Jersey and New York.

Q: Are you involved in any extracurricular activities?

A: In school, I am an active member of Class Advisory, No Place for Hate and Best Buddies. Outside of school, I ride horses, which I have been doing over 14 years. I also am employed at The Big Red Barn Health Food Store in Emmaus.

Q: What is your next goal after high school?

A: I will be attending Moravian College this fall, majoring in nursing. The program I got accepted into is a four year Bachelor of Science in Nursing.

Q: What do you consider your biggest challenge to date?

A: Balancing my schedule and trying to get enough sleep.

Q: For what would you like to be remembered?

A: I do not have an answer to this question because, what people remember about me is not what’s vital, but how I live my life in the future is.

Q: Who is in your family?

A: I live with my mother, Denise and our two dogs: Kenei and Lola. I have a huge family with whom I am extremely close.

Q: Whom do you admire? Why?

A: I cannot exactly pinpoint one person I admire greatly. In my opinion, a better word to use is appreciate. There are so many people in my life that I appreciate deeply and am thankful for.

Q: Do you have any advice for your peers?

A: Don’t care about what other irrelevant people think, as long as you’re doing what makes you happy, but make sure you’ll be successful in the future.
