Zephyr Elementary School is having its annual Barnes & Noble event 6-8 p.m. tonight, March 15. This year, there will be a scavenger hunt, trivia contest, a mystery reader and a homeroom competition where the homeroom with the most students in attendance earns a cookie party.

Family Stages Theater Program will perform March 21 at Gockley Elementary School.

Since 1980, Family Stages has brought the joy and excitement of live theater to thousands of schools, libraries, theaters and community centers, with programs of enrichment, entertainment and education for audiences of all ages.

This winter, program members have led an after-school theater program for more than 20 Gockley students.

On March 21, the students will culminate the program with a live play for parents and friends.

Harlem Wizards will visit Whitehall High School 7 p.m. March 22 for a game against Whitehall staff. Doors open 6 p.m. Fliers detailing the event were sent home with students.

Spring break will be March 30 to April 2. March 29 is now a school makeup day due to the recent snow day.

Whitehall Theater Club is presenting “The Addams Family Musical” 7 p.m. April 12-14 and 2 p.m. April 15 in the auditorium of the high school, and tickets are on sale now.

Kindergarten registration is underway. Parents can access and complete the online registration by logging on to the district website. Select a date and time to meet with the enrollment secretary to present all the required documentation. Parents can visit the school website to read the requirements.

To complete the registration, parents or guardians will be given an appointment to bring their child to meet with the guidance counselor or principal, school nurse, ESOL teacher and reading specialist for a brief assessment at Gockley April 9, 10, 11, 12 or 13.

Your child must be 5 years old before Sept. 1.
