Beatles tribute band, The Fab Faux, has developed a fiercely devoted cult following in the Lehigh Valley and the United States over the years.

“We are grateful for our fans,” says Fab Faux drummer-lead singer Rich Pagano, “We have a lot of Beatles’ fans, but we also have a lot of music fans.”

The Fab Faux returns to one of the group’s favorite venues, the State Theatre Center for the Arts, at 8 p.m. March 10.

“This theater is one of our most favorite places,” says Pagano. “The people who run it are fantastic. Shelley Brown [State Theatre President and CEO] could not be more generous. She has a lot to do with the reputation of Easton. We have watched Easton transform over the years.”

The Fab Faux was formed in 1997 by Will Lee, bassist for “Late Show with David Letterman,” and features Jimmy Vivino, band leader for “Conan”; Frank Agnello, Jack Petruzzelli and Pagano.

Pagano has loved the Beatles ever since his father brought him home a Beatles album when he was eight-years-old. “That day I gave all my Disney albums over to my brother,” he says.

So as a lifelong Beatles fan, when Lee approached him and said, “We should start the greatest Beatles cover band ever,” Pagano was immediately hooked. “And you don’t say no to Will Lee,” he says with a laugh.

The Fab Faux’s following inspires the band. “We have a large contingent of people who come to every show,” says Pagano. “It’s become a community.

“We never play the same show twice so there is always something new for the audience and that’s part of the thrill. We have transcended the idea of just playing the song. We stretch it out or put our own personality into it. That makes us more of a real band and not just a replica.”

For the March 10 State Theatre show, The Fab Faux celebrate the 50th anniversary of the iconic “Sgt. Pepper’s Lonely Hearts Club Band” album, which was released May 26, 1967, playing the album in it’s entirety mixed with other Beatles favorites.

“‘Sgt. Pepper’ is arguably the greatest concept album ever,” says Pagano. “From start to finish, we are going to take you on a ride with this concert: a great psychedelic ride.”
