When changing the clocks ...

Lehigh County District Attorney Jim Martin is asking county residents to take the time to clean out their medicine cabinets when they change their clocks for Daylight Saving Time on March 11.

“Lehigh County residents should take this opportunity to identify and dispose of unused and expired prescription and over-the-counter medications, some of which can be both dangerous and addictive,” Martin said. “These drugs need to be removed from homes in a timely manner.

“Doing so in conjunction with Daylight Saving Time is an easy way to remember to regularly check and dispose of unwanted medication. ”

Disposal of these medications can be done at the Permanent Medication Collection Box sites in Lehigh County. Since 2014, over 17,000 pounds of medications have been collected.

The collection box sites are listed below:

·Slatington Police Department, 125 S. Walnut St., Slatington, Monday-Friday 8 a.m.-4 p.m.

·South Whitehall Police Department, 4444 Walbert Ave., South Whitehall, Monday-Friday 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. excluding holidays.

·Upper Macungie Police Department, 37 Grim Road, Monday-Friday from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m., excluding holidays.
