Jane A. Holben

Jane A. “Janie” Holben, 66, of Orefield, died Feb. 28, 2018, in Lehigh Valley Hospital, Salisbury Township.

The loving wife of Barry J. Holben, they were married 38 years last June 30.

Born March 6, 1951, in Allentown, she was the daughter of Thomas E. and Ethel (Goach) Grider of Allentown.

A graduate of Gratz College with a Master’s degree in education, she was an elementary school teacher more than 20 years, most recently with the Whitehall-Coplay School District.

For the past several years, she dedicated her time working with Susan Christine and the Wings 2 Peace charity, which provides services and goods to the pediatric hospice in the Lehigh Valley.

She was a member of Jordan United Church of Christ, South Whitehall.

In addition to her loving husband and parents, she is survived by daughters Courtney L. Holben of Philadelphia, Elisabeth B. (Holben) Strain and her husband, John, of Ardmore; sister Debra S. Grainger and her husband, George, of Port Washington, Wis.
