Facebook changes news feed

Facebook has changed its news feed, and has decreased the amount of local news you will see on the site. But there is a way to make sure you still see the local content from the Parkland Press.

According to Facebook, your news feed will prioritize posts from friends and family over businesses and pages, including local newspapers.

Luckily, Facebook allows users to prioritize pages so you see their content first. If you want to continue seeing articles from the Parkland Press, here are some instructions:

1. Access your “News Feed preferences.” On your phone, you can find them by clicking the icon in the bottom left hand corner of the screen, and scrolling down until you see settings.

2. Select “Prioritize who to see first.” You’ll see a list of the pages you have liked or followed, and you can select the Parkland Press.

You can also do it directly from the Parkland Press page. Click on the “Following” button just below our cover photo. In the drop down menu, under “In your news feed,” click on “see first”.

This is the best way to make sure you see posts from the Parkland Press. And don’t worry, you won’t be overwhelmed with notifications.

Over the last few years, we have enjoyed connecting with new and existing readers on Facebook. We love the comments and dialogue from residents of the Parkland area.

We want to make sure that you continue to see the breaking news, court news, and local coverage of your children’s schools from our reporters.
