Whitehall-Coplay Middle School won the Outstanding Career Pathway Award at the What’s So Cool About Manufacturing student video contest award ceremony Feb. 27.

Pennies for Patients, also known as Pasta for Pennies, at Zephyr Elementary School ends March 8. This is an annual fundraiser for Leukemia & Lymphoma Society.

Students received a small box to collect change for the cause. The homeroom classrooms are competing for the most money collected. Each classroom has a chart to track its progress. The winning homeroom will receive a pasta luncheon, courtesy of Olive Garden.

School will be closed March 9 for a professional development day for teachers.

A family fun night is set for 6-8 p.m. March 13 at Gockley Elementary School. Mark your calendar and plan to attend for some great family fun.

Gertrude Hawk fundraiser pickup is scheduled for March 14 in the cafeteria of Whitehall-Coplay Middle School. Items can be picked up 3:30-6:30 p.m.

Zephyr Elementary School is having its annual Barnes & Noble event 6-8 p.m. March 15. This year, there will be a scavenger hunt, trivia contest, a mystery reader and a homeroom competition where the homeroom with the most students in attendance earns a cookie party.

Harlem Wizards will visit Whitehall High School 7 p.m. March 22 for a game against Whitehall staff. Doors open 6 p.m. Fliers were sent home with students with details of the event.

Spring break will be from March 29 to April 2. In the event there is another school closing due to inclement weather, March 29 will become a school makeup day.

Whitehall Theater Club is presenting “The Addams Family Musical” 7 p.m. April 12-14 and 2 p.m. April 15 in the auditorium of the high school, and tickets are on sale now.

Physical and dental exam notices were recently sent home for acquiring a physical or dental form from your private provider. The School Health Law of Pennsylvania requires all children entering kindergarten or first grade to have a dental and physical exam completed and the form submitted to school.

Whitehall-Coplay School District also requires these exams for all transfer students.
