Lynn Twp yard sale, April 28

Kathy Hermany reported at the February Lynn Township supervisors’ meeting the township yard sale will be from 11 a.m. until 4 p.m. April 28 at Ontelaunee Park.

Electronic recycling and paper shredding will be available at that time.

New Tripoli Fire Company will have food available.

The road crew report indicated workers were busy plowing snow in January.

They did, however, manage to allot some time to other projects.

Repairs were made to equipment, culverts were opened to alleviate any drainage problems, boom mowing and working on the dirt roads were also attended to.

Jacob Max was hired as part-time help at the park.

The board also adopted an ordinance dealing with revisions to the park rules and regulations.

Also adopted resolutions incorporating Christopher Wentz’s 24 acres on Herrnhutter Strasse Road into the Ag Security District, appointing Ron Jerdon as zoning hearing board alternate, and appointing Fry and Company as auditors of the township’s books at a cost of $7,000.

Timothy Foster of Zoey Farms LLC, along Behler Road, has offered his 15 acres for induction into the Ag Security District.

The board revisited the zoning hearing board’s request to change the maximum lot coverage portion of the ordinance.

After some discussion, they decided to raise the maximum to 20 percent, replacing the 10 percent restriction in the Rural and Rural Residential Districts.

Supervisors also agreed to upgrade the lights in the township building only.

The upgrade was awarded to Earl Kocher Electric at a cost of $5,500.

Only the township office, meeting room and hallway will be involved in the upgrade.

Tina Snyder was appointed part-time cleaning person for the township building.

Runoff water from some fields drains onto Decatur Street and freezes, thereby causing a road hazard.

Several solutions were discussed by the board including contacting the Soil Conservation Service to study the problem, installing a swale in the field or contacting PennDOT as Decatur Street is a state highway.
