Q. In what grade are you currently enrolled?

A. I am in 12th grade at Emmaus High School.

Q. What is your favorite subject? Why?

A. My favorite subject is physics due to the fascination I have with understanding how reality works. I have taken or am taking all of the Advanced Placement physics courses offered at EHS. I love the universality of physics, that you can learn about the most mind-bogglingly large space bodies to tiny particles and everything in between with all of it falling under the same umbrella. And of course, my teacher, Mr. Ohl, always succeeds in making class enjoyable and enlightening every day.

Q. Have you received any special awards or recognition?

A. I am a member of National Honor Society, French National Honor Society and Tri-M Music Honor Society. I have been awarded the AP Scholar with Honor and have received Principal’s Honor Roll each year at EHS.

Q. Are you involved in any extracurricular activities?

A. I have played the violin for many years and in the orchestra for every year of high school, (of which I am currently the senior representative), in Sinfonia for the past three years and in the Chamber Orchestra for the past two. I volunteer through the Interact Club and I participate in Model UN and Science Bowl. I am a member of the academic team and the varsity debate team. I also play soccer outside of school.

Q. What is your next goal after high school?

A. I plan on attending university, (though I am not yet totally sure as to where), to study engineering and physics so I can pursue a career in those fields after college.

Q. What do you consider your biggest challenge to date?

A. I suppose my biggest challenge has been learning to properly manage my time with school and extracurriculars. As a former chronic procrastinator, achieving proper time management has been a pretty large hurdle, but the lessons I learned from it will be valuable in the future.

Q. For what would you like to be remembered?

A. I would like to be remembered as a respectful, diligent student and a good, reliable friend.

Q. Who is in your family?

A. My father’s name is Rick and my mother’s name is Diane. I have a younger brother named Evan and a dog who is a lab-boxer mix named Dempsey.

Q. Whom do you admire? Why?

A. I admire my parents for always working hard, setting a good example and helping me become the person I am today.

Q. Do you have any advice for your peers?

A. School is important, but it isn’t everything. Make sure you make time not just for other activities, but for yourself. Doing everything and getting perfect grades isn’t worth it if you are super stressed out all of the time and unhappy. Take the time to enjoy life by doing what you love with people you are close to.
